Unsustainable Packaging Examples

FROM NOW ON WE ARE GONNA POST REAL TIME EXAMPLES OF UNSUSTAINABLE PACKAGING AS WELL AS “GOOD” AND GREEN ONES AND MAKE COMPREHENSIVE CRITIC OF BOTH.

First one goes to very familiar Brand. This chemical cleaning tablet may have been innovative and efficient in doing its job, but not in it’s packaging! First of all you have to tear it up to reach the inside because there is no opening instructions and it glued so hard.

This product has two unit in packaging inside made of low density recycble PET and outside is fine quality craft carton paper in size of 185 mm x 165 mm.

Now the problem is not only in choosing double material, it is also polished print which contains harmful ingredient when it solves out in the nature as waste.

The carton package has no real function other than using as advertorial material. Because inside tray is made of very resistant material it does not requires extra packaging for protection. It is also stand in the shelves by itself without needing the outer carton package.

Considering this product is mass production and makes millions of tones waste. They think its recycble and seems no problem in that which is wrong! Because the real problem is to forget that recycling is another production process and consumes energy and makes pollution as much as production.

The funny part is; at the back of the carton pack it has the logo of www.sustainable-cleaning.com
